![]() A bad solder joint that loses contact and then when it gets jiggled a bit, it comes back. After what I found this morning, I very much suspect something like that. I took mine apart and sure enough, re-soldering that fixed the problem. I googled the problem and some folks were talking about some bad solder joints on the multi-pin connector on the board of the cluster. I had a problem a while back - don't even remember what it was but something blinking or similar on the instr cluster. Also found that my right thumb between the right most top edge of the steering column and the cluster was what was really having the effect. Did it several times and each time I could make it act right by pushing up and then when I let off pressure, the problem would come back. It made the instrument cluster "recover" and then when I let go (stopped pushing up) the problem came right back. While it was acting up I stuck my thumbs under the gauge cluster - between the top of the steering column and the "dash" just above it - and lifted with my thumbs. I did an experiment on mine this morning. If yours is doing the same thing, from the same cause as mine, it's not ground straps under the hood and such. Im just simply lost and cannot figure it out
